1. Who knew you could fall in love even when your body has been run over by a tire of a 600-ton truck?
2. After the impact, people were gathering around. Appalled. Shocked. Pointing smartphones at me. Snapping pictures. Shooting videos. then, I saw her.
Standing amid a crowd. Looking at me. With genuine sadness. Her white salwar kameez and the sunlight's reflection made her look like an angel. Maybe she was. I stared into her eyes. Such deep dark eyes.
3. And then I blinked.
4. Everything went sepia. Visuals mixed like liquid. Suddenly I was a month-old baby. In my mother's arms. Sucking her breast.
5 I blinked.
6 I am now a 4-year-old toddler. I am standing outside. Peeing on a flower. I can hear my mother making "Shhhh..." to help me pee. I can hear crickets songs. I see a blue sky, a White Moonlight. I can feel the Cold breeze.
7. I blinked.
8. I am now a 7 year old boy. It's a golden ray-soaked afternoon. I am in the middle of a run. I looked around. Fahim is running behind me. Behind him was his little brother Fahad. Way farther, standing side by side, Luna with her usual beauty, Fatiha with her unusually tall and slim figure, I looked ahead. Found out why I was running at that moment. Jhalmuriwala was coming at his typical hour.
I blinked.
8. And found myself surrounded by Dark And greenish waters. I find myself as a 9-year-old and drowning. I am throwing my hands up and down, attempting to climb up the water to breathe. But gravity is pulling me down. I tasted the moss-fishy flavor of water as I was trying. And then a pair of Hands went under my arms and raised me. I tried to breathe with my mouth open. And then I looked at the face that caused this situation. This son of a bitch was trying to teach me swimming. Something nobody told him to do. But at that moment I was grateful to be saved.
9. I blinked.
And I was back. Lying in the middle of a road.
