75 years!
Is it just a number?
An information?
Buried,deep.
Bloody past, blasts.
Dreams, demolished.
Memories, crushed.
Courage, trapped.
Fear, fired at.
Unburied sleep.

Occupied and stolen-
Land,
Dreams,
Future,
By the blue baboons.
Resilient and brave,
Are the man,
Women,
And, children.
Of watermelon and olive land.

The father, who lost his daughter,
Stands beside a son.
The son, who lost his father,
Stands beside a brother.
The brother, who lost a sister,
Stands beside a husband.
The husband, who lost a wife,
Stands beside a grandfather.
The grandfather, who lost all,
Stands beside a boy.
The boy, who lost a mother,
Stands next to a rubble.
Where everyone was lost.

Thousand year old generations,
Bombed, murdered, and splattered.
Father, mother, and children.
Shot, blown, and crushed.

Poems no longer,
rhyme in Palestine.
Sentences are broken,
Abruptly stops.
Words are weak,
Letters are lean.
Meaning has no metaphor,
Only literal.
Written in rare ink.
And the Poets?
Buried, under the rubble.
